Neil Carmichael speaking at a City of Westminster event
Neil Carmichael recently attended an event hosted by the City of Westminster Council in Manchester. Neil in his capacity as a member of the Education Committee at the House of Commons was asked to speak at the event promoting early intervention, particularly in education.
The City of Westminster is currently merging some of its education services with the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and the Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham in order to other more joined up services across local authority borders in West London and to ensure that standards remain high.
According to the council, since introducing policies surrounding early intervention nearly two years ago the number of children requiring a child protection plan has fallen by 10% and the number of children requring care has fallen 15%.
