Festival: Schedule for the Festival of Manufacturing and Engineering

The schedule for the Festival of Manufacturing and Engineering, to be hosted across the Stroud Constituency by Neil Carmichael from 23rd - 27th April has now been released, it is as follows:

 

 

Monday 23rd April

11:00 Past, Present and Future exhibition at Wycliffe School, Stonehouse

(an exhibition showing the past achievements of engineering in the constituency, current successes and future developments)

12:00 Opening of Festival by Rt Hon Mark Prisk MP and Neil Carmichael MP

13:00 Lunch

15:00 Exhibition open to the public

 

 

Tuesday 24th April

10:30 Women in Engineering Seminar at Stroud High School, Stroud

(a discussion for senior school students about the opportunities for women in industry from current apprentices to experienced engineers)

16:00 Tours of businesses with the constituency

(highlighting the plethora of products and opportunities available for investment and employment)

 

 

Wednesday 25th April

Energy Day

(an examination of the opportunities available for local businesses and apprenticeships)

  • Unlocking Nuclear Potential
  • Oil and Gas Industry
  • Renewables

Lunch - reducing the carbon footprint and recycling - the way for your business

 

 

Thursday 26th April

10:00 Investor Conference

(looking at alternative investment strategies)

14:00 Schools Meccano Scrap Heap Challenge at Rednock School, Dursley

19:00 Supply Chain Reception

 

 

Friday 27th April

Aprrentice Day - meeting the challenge at Stroud College

(issues arising from apprenticeships and encouraging appreticeships)
