Baroness Warsi visits company in Dursley
On Thursday 1st December, Minister without Portfolio in the Cabinet and the Co-Chairman of the Conservative Party Baroness Warsi came to the constituency, in order to attend a site visit at the renowned manufacturing and engineering firm in Dursley, Lister Petter.
Baroness Warsi, Neil Carmichael and local district councillor Alex Stennett were given a tour of the facilities which included a demonstration of their products, talking with some of their employees and a vison for the future of the company from Director Alun Williams.
Lister Shearing is a fantastic local company and a big employer in Dursley, it has been based in the town for more than one hundred years and has a worldwide market for its products, shearing equipment for agricultural and equestrian markets. It has taken on more than ten net new staff in the last twelve months and is currently in the process of building a bigger and more capable factory.
So illustrious their products are that they were issued a Royal Warrant by His Majesty, King George VI more than than sixty years ago and are currently holding a Royal Warrant from Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.
