Neil Carmichael attends celebrations at the Chalford Hill Primary School Breakfast Club
Neil Carmichael MP and Debbie Young District Councillor for Chalford, Headteacher Corinne Martin and two support workers attended the celebration at Chalford Hill Primary School Breakfast Club on the 3rd February. Chalford Hill Primary School has been lucky enough to receive funding from the Kelloggs Help Give a Child a Breakfast campaign; the campaign has so far awarded over 500 different grants to schools.
The launch of Breakfast Clubs in schools has repeatedly shown positive results with children being given a safe and fun environment before school. Ensuring that children have a breakfast before school has led to improved concentration and gives parents a safe place for children to go when they need to get to work early.
Chalford Hill Primary School which was awarded a £450.00 grant as part of the campaign has the freedom to spend the money in any way that they wish, with Chalford Hill choosing to spend the money on games and entertainment for the children to enjoy as well as £50 being spent on cereals.
Neil said: "I really enjoyed meeting the children again and am very pleased the school has been awarded the money, which will enhance their Breakfast Club. The commitment of all those at the school is evident as is the enjoyment of the children at the club. I was very impressed at the choice and quality of the food on offer and the activities the children can do."
