Neil Carmichael Cuts the Ribbon for Cobalts Spring Stroll in Nailsworth

Neil Carmichael Cuts the Ribbon for Cobalts Spring Stroll in Nailsworth

16 April 2012 at 10:27

Neil Carmichael cut the ribbon to start Cobalt's 28th annual 'Spring Stroll'. The event took place on Sunday, April 15th 2012 to raise money for The Heart Mind & Body Scanner Appeal.

All ages were welcome in this family friendly day with Mums, Dads, Nans, Grandads, brothers, sisters, children, friends and even dogs taking part! The sponsored walk took participants along a 7 mile route down the cycle path and back with some delicious refreshments provided along the way.

To reward their success walkers were invited to the Comrades Club for a much needed drink and buffet.

The Heart Mind & Body Scanner Appeal is Cobalt working together with Gloucestershire NHS Foundation Trust.  The appeal will raise £1million to fund a specialist CT scanner at Cheltenham General Hospital.

This will revolutionise the diagnosis of heart disease, stroke, cancer and other life-limiting conditions for more than 12,000 local people every year. It will be the only scanner of its type in the region.

Neil said "I was delighted to be able to open the annual sponsored walk in Nailsworth for Cobalt. The Heart Mind and Body Scanner Appeal is a very worthy cause and will have a positive impact for many of my consituents."

To find out how you can help please call Cobalt on 01242 535922 or email the fundraising team on scannerappeal@cobalthealth.co.uk or visit the website page www.scannerappeal.com.
