Festival: STEMworks commitment to the Festival of Manufacturing and Engineering

23 January 2012 at 12:45
What better way to celebrate the Engineering achievements of Stroud, and to highlight the opportunities in the future, than to support The Festival of Manufacturing and Engineering.
STEMworks is delighted to have the opportunity to support this important initiative. We will be bringing along some hands on engineering activities for children and adults to try. We believe Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) are central to the future economic prosperity of the county. Encouraging more students to study STEM subjects is important for developing a talent pool for local manufacturing and engineering companies.
STEMworks is a Gloucestershire based, not for profit company with the objective of exciting and enthusing students about STEM subjects. Working with local businesses and schools we develop and deliver engaging and practical workshops in both primary and secondary schools, where the students apply their knowledge to solve real life problems. Through the interaction with volunteers from local businesses the students can start to understand the relevance of STEM subjects to potential careers and see that engineering offers an exciting, challenging and rewarding future.
