Celebrating KS2 reading results at Longney CofE Primary School

Today Neil joined Longney Church of England Primary School pupils for their Celebration Worship where he congratulated them on the letter they had received from Mr Nick Gibb MP, stating that their KS2 results for reading were in the top 1% of schools across the country. This is a tremendous achievement and everyone involved in this achievement is to be congratulated

Reading is very important to us as without reading, children cannot access other areas of the curriculum.” commented Ms Penny Howard, headteacher. “We are also very keen our children read for pleasure and you will see pupils reading during their breaks across the day. Currently we are doing ‘Drop Everything And Read’ at all sorts of times during the day and our pupils are very excited about this. We are also very grateful to our Friend of Longney School association who have recently paid to refurbish our library." .
